In 1962, Dale Patrick was involved in the development of some of the first commercial ammunition reloading machines. In those days, he would work on the machines in the basement of his home in Wyandotte, Michigan. It was his goal to sell the Inline Presses across the United States.
During the early 1960's, Dale spent the summers with his sons traveling the country and selling the presses out of the back of the family car. At the time, they called themselves Midwest Reloading. Unfortunately, they did not encounter the success they had hoped to achieve. Instead, they came to the realization that their customers needed ammunition, but did not want to reload it themselves.
In 1967, Midwest Reloading made the decision take a different approach. Dale, along with his wife and two sons, started reloading ammo using their machines in the basement of their home. From this point forward, the company would be known as Michigan Ammo. Under the new company name, Michigan Ammo bounced around the state of Michigan for a few years before moving to their current location in Ecorse where they continue to reload and manufacture quality handgun ammunition today.
Flash forward to April of 2016. The Patrick family passed their business on to another father and son duo. Michigan Ammo is now owned and operate by Matt Selak and his son, Matthew Jr. who carry on the mission the Patrick family started in 1967.
Michigan Ammo proudly provides ammunition to law enforcement agencies, avid and competitive target shooters, gun ranges, shooting clubs, and individuals and groups who have a passion and respect for target shooting.
